Jason O’Dell is the Global Vice President of Security Operations at Walmart, leading a team dedicated to protecting the Fortune 1 company, its 250 million weekly customers, and more than two million associates from cyber threats. With more than 25 years experience in technology and information security, he has built and led high-performing teams across multiple sectors.
Before joining Walmart, Jason founded and scaled a managed security service provider (MSSP), growing it from a four-person team to a multi-million-dollar business and earning recognition as a top 50 global MSSP for five consecutive years. The service portfolio included incident response, security operations, threat intelligence, and penetration testing, with geographically dispersed security operations centers. Under his leadership, the MSSP protected more than 1,000 financial institutions with combined assets exceeding $500 billion.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity from Bellevue University and has earned multiple industry certifications. His expertise has been featured in national media, and he has spoken and keynoted at numerous security conferences. His dedication to advancing cybersecurity was recognized by SANs and he received the Difference Maker Award for going above and beyond in his efforts to further advance the information security field.
