The People-Led, AI-Powered Security Operations Center

Abstract:
The emergence of agentic artificial intelligence is empowering threat actors. To scale our defenses against AI threats coming within the next five years, the Walmart Security Operations Center research team forecasts that there must be a rapid transformation to become people-led, and AI-powered. In this talk, we present our prediction of what a people-led, AI-powered SOC of the future will look like, specifically focusing on the following:
- Key strategies for training SOC operators and responders to amplify their impact via AI
- Securing trustworthy AI compute resources for SOC data
- Building a robust and pluggable system of self-evaluation and self-improvement
